All entries must be registered in their respective stud books, and both the breed and registration number must be given on their Entry Forms. Brood mares must be four years old or over. Foals must accompany mares in the ring and be at least three weeks old on the day of the show. Stallions and colts two years and over must have a Ministry of Agriculture, breed society or N.P.S. stallion licence. For Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Highland, Shetland & Welsh this rule is extended to three years old and over.

Heavy HorsesHunter Classes
All hunter classes will be judged under Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain rules. SHB (GB) require all exhibits in the Hunter Classes to be registered.Classes 92 – 96; 101 & 102 are qualifying events for the Royal International Horse Show, and only horses registered on the 2001 Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers must be quoted on Entry Forms and owners and riders must be Full Members of the SHB(GB). The three highest placed horses in each Class will qualify to enter the R.I.H.S. at Hickstead. No horse lower than third will qualify. A minimum of first prize is to be awarded in qualifying classes. In the Novice Class the first prize will not exceed irrespective of the number of entries, other prizes pro rata.
