Welcome to the Leicestershire Show web site. Look into it and get a picture of the Leicestershire Countryside in Action.

The 2004 Show will be held on 2nd and 3rd May.

The Show is Leicestershire’s primary venue for exhibiting livestock (cattle, sheep and goats), horses (showing, showjumping, heavy horses, private driving classes, fun driving classes), food exhibits (promoting Leicestershire Foods in particular).

Over 30,000 visitors enjoyed the attractions this year including the return of the livestock classes – a great loss to the Show in recent years due to Foot and Mouth disease.

The top showing horses came to compete with unrivalled entries in their various classes; the showjumping was a marvellous spectacle on both days with members of the Great Britain showjumping team in action. The Heavy horses were as usual a wonderful sight to see and much enjoyed by the crowd. The Farrier Competition gave the visitors an opportunity to see all the horse shoeing operation live.

In the main ring there were displays by the Vintage Tractors, the Beeston & District Pipe Band, the Rockwood Dog Display Team, the very exciting stunt rider the Kangaroo Kid as well as the Bob Hogg Sheep Dog and Duck display.

The Sheep Show was a real crowd puller keeping everyone entertained throughout the day and children attending the Show were able to enjoy face painting and all the fun of the fair.

Visitors to the Show enjoyed the W.I. Marquee, Craft, Shopping and Countryside Marquee and the large array of trade stands and many had to stagger home with their various purchases. A wide range of catering stands were available offering refreshments from ice-cream to café latte, Italian, German and even Ostrich burgers!
